In the episode commentary for 2x01, the famous eye-sex scene in the car is discussed.

Alex: “This scene really shows the nature of their relationship. It’s really sort of brotherly and they can go from wanting to kill each other to a place of love very quickly which is what makes it an interesting relationship and something we can relate to as well…and I’m in love with Scott.”

Daniel: “That’s a longing look right there. I’m not so sure that’s brotherly.”
